What Is Holding You Back From Success?

What’s causing that inner turmoil within your body? What’s causing the discord? What’s pulling you apart and threatening to tear the very fiber that holds you together?

Are you not supposed to be happy, in control, in charge of your life and enjoying the life that you were born to live?

Then, why do you feel dissatisfied, unfulfilled, and unhappy? What is this silent restlessness? Why are you not content with the way things are?

Perhaps you are a career driven woman with great professional qualifications and expertise. You have finally got the job you have desired for so long— the job of your dreams. However, now that you have it, you are wondering why you even desired it! The job pays well and you are in the right position, but you want something else, something more, another job and this is not it. What is really going on?

Perhaps you have been feeling empty and unfulfilled. You feel as though something is missing inside you, but you can’t seem to place your finger on what exactly it is. You don’t even know clearly what it is you are looking for, but you feel the need to be introspective and to try and figure it all out. You just want to be alone, to stay away from social activities and to kind of cut down on fun time. You need to think and be clear about your life. What is really going on?

Perhaps people think that you are the luckiest person in the world. They envy you because they think that you have got things moving in your direction. Just because you come from the “right family” and from the “right side of the tracks,” they think that your life “rocks”. What they don’t know is that deep down inside, you don’t feel lucky, you feel empty and unfulfilled, you are hurting inside and you don’t know why. You want to cry for help but you dare not, you want people to see you for who you are, to know that you are not super human and that things are falling apart in your life…what is really going on?

Perhaps you are the “invisible” person who wants to be visible, to be recognized as a “person” and to be recognized for your work. You want to be someone in society, and to move from nowhere to somewhere. You are frustrated because none of these things you desire seem to be happening in your life. You constantly wonder why things seem to fall in place for others but not for you. You feel like a victim of circumstances and you just want to scream and tell people “Hey! Stop! Look at me, consider me, value my contribution …I am IT! I am the real deal!” What is really going on?

To find yourself you need to ask yourself three simple questions:

1. Who are you?

Consider your values… what do you stand for? What’s really important to you? Think about this question from the truth that you know deep down inside. Can you describe who you are and what you represent? Who do your friends say you are? Do you believe them? If you don’t, then who are you? Don’t be influenced by what you or others think that you “should “be. Look within and give yourself honest feedback.

2. What do you want?

What are your dreams, desires and expectations or goals in life? What do you want to accomplish in life? Write everything down and ponder about point carefully. Ask yourself why “what you want” is really important to you.

3. Where are you now and how will you get to where you want to be?

Consider who you are today...how do you feel about the person that you are today? How about what you are doing? How do you feel about your work? If you are not satisfied with who you are and what you do— what will you do to ensure that you begin to live the life that you want? How will you do it? By when will you do it? Decide what you need to do, commit to it and do it.Finally, get in touch with your true self, align your life with your purpose and begin to lead a fulfilling life! You know the answer, it lies within you.

How To Keep Your New Year's Resolutions

It’s that time of year. The time of year where everyone has just indulged in a 35 day splurge of cookies, treats, and eggnog. You have had turkey, gravy, ham, seconds, potatoes, butter biscuits, leftovers, sweets, spiced frappaccinos, peppermint frappaccinos; you’ve had it all. Now its time to start fresh as the new year rings in. Now is the time to get back the things that you really want out of life. For most Americans, new years resolutions are almost synonymous with diets, but no matter what you choose to give up or do better at as the new year comes around, sticking to whatever it is comes down to the same concept. So how do you stick to your new years resolution? Follow these fabulous five tips and you will be well on your way.

Eliminate temptation. If you are giving up something for new years, remove it from your home and life completely. If it’s there, you are going to be thinking about it. Resisting it becomes something you are consciously doing because it is right in front of you. However, if the temptation is not there in the first place, then you will not be constantly aware of the fact that you are giving something up. Out of sight, out of mind is a wonderful concept that will work to your advantage in this type of situation.

Substitute. If you give something up for new years, replace it with a better option. If you are giving up chocolate, replace it with fruit. If you’re giving up red meat, replace it with chicken. Make sure you replace it with something that you enjoy because if you don’t, then you will really miss the thing that you initially gave up. Substitution works wonders.
Tell your loved ones. If you are seriously about a resolution, tell the people in your life that are closest to you so they can be your support system. This way, if ever feel like you might cave, you can call on them to keep you on track. They’ll keep pushing you along the way until you receive the results that you originally sought out for. Without a support system, most things are much harder. People were created to help one another and this is really important to sticking to your new years resolution.

Reward yourself. If you’ve done really well with whatever you were trying to do, give yourself something that you’ve really been wanting. If you really wanted that cute sweater from Macy’s and you’ve given up chocolate for your new years resolution, tell yourself that you will be allowed to buy it if you can be true to your resolution all through January. This will give you motivation along the way! Track yourself. Track your successes using a calendar or something similar so you have something tangible to look at and see your achievements. If you can look back at the past 10 weeks and see an “X” on each day, that feeling itself is going to be incredibly rewarding so it will keep you motivated.
